However, the lack of procedures and practices to make the conclusions of these studies reviewable questions the solidity and scientific validity of many cases. In this context, the importance of collection specimens as a cornerstone of the scientific method in these studies is increasingly recognized and accepted. This situation presents an opportunity for collections, provided that they publish their data online with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/genbank\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">links to GenBank<\/a>\u00a0and collaborate with GenBank repositories to link to the backup specimens.
