The selection of admitted applicants is based on what they contribute or can contribute to the overall goals of GBIF and the national node, as well as the specific characteristics of each activity.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cmore information\u201d links, which lead to the complete details of each workshop, will become active as the workshop dates approach and their contents are confirmed.<\/p>\n<h3>III GBIF.ES Workshop: Conservation, Management, and Digitization of Herbaria<\/h3>\n<p>The workshop will cover the complete process of managing a botanical collection, from the collection and preparation of specimens to their digitization, conservation, and data publication. Using practical techniques and specialized tools, participants will learn to identify and correct common errors, standardize data terminology and formats, and evaluate dataset integrity and coherence. Madrid)<br \/>\nMore information coming soon<\/p>\n<h3>GBIF.ES Webinar: Biodiversity data most useful for research and conservation<\/h3>\n<p>Progress in understanding biodiversity and its dynamics depends on the availability of data that can be analysed and applied in research and conservation. The explosion of citizen science dedicated to observing and recording biodiversity\u2014within the broader context of open science and information technologies\u2014is providing scientists and managers with an enormous volume of data. However, in many cases these data are not fully useful, either because of a misguided approach to data protection or because observations are insufficiently documented. This webinar will address what characterises a sensitive record\u2014and what does not\u2014as well as how different citizen\u2011science platforms are managing this issue.
