The Natusfera use case<\/em>\u00a0during the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.creaf.cat\/events\/events\/xv-jornada-creaf-scb-ichn-reptes-idees-i-solucions-fer-ciencia-ciutadana-util-i-amb-impacte\"><strong>XVI Meeting CREAF SCB ICHN<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0which take place on November 21st, 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This meeting was hosted by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.creaf.cat\/es\">CREAF<\/a> (Center for Ecological Research and Forest Applications), <a href=\"https:\/\/scb.iec.cat\/\">SCB<\/a> (Catalan Society of Biology) and <a href=\"https:\/\/ichn.iec.cat\/\">ICHN<\/a> (Catalan Institute of Natural History) in the historical building of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iec.cat\/\">IEC<\/a> (Institute for Catalan Studies), in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During his presentation, Felipe Castilla explained the use of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/natusfera.gbif.es\/?locale=en\">Natusfera<\/a> platform and the publication of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/colecciones.gbif.es\/public\/show\/dr608\">Natusfera Citizen Science Observation Dataset<\/a>\u00a0through GBIF. He also introduced the importance of citizen open data using a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.doi.org\/\">DOI<\/a>\u00a0(Digital Object Identifier) to track the use of the data we share through the network.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the end of this event, there was a panel discussion where lecturers and attendees could debate about the limits and potential of citizen science in society.<\/p>\n<p>Conclusions from this meeting can be found in <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.creaf.cat\/es\/noticies\/idees-reptes-i-solucions-per-fer-ciencia-ciutadana-util-i-amb-impacte\/\">this link<\/a>\u00a0(available just in Spanish).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Felipe Castilla (GBIF Spain) presented the Data traking in GBIF.
