This year, the Challenge\u00a0will award \u20ac34,000 for entries which develop new applications, visualizations, methods, workflows or analyses, often (but not always) making use of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbif.org\/developer\/summary\">GBIF API<\/a>\u00a0to access data. You may also build on or extend the capabilities of existing tools and features from across the GBIF network.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Entrants must be received via the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbif.org\/news\/5POv0fV8h1tGvpI3GQwQ96\/2019-gbif-ebbe-nielsen-challenge-seeks-open-data-innovations-for-biodiversity\">Challenge submission page<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0<strong>Thursday, 1 August 2019, at 1600 UTC+2<\/strong>. The winners will be announced at the\u00a026th GBIF Governing Board meeting, in the Netherlands, in October 2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Challenge is open to individuals, teams of individuals, companies and their employees, and governmental agencies and their employees.
