LafargeHolcim Espa\u00f1a<\/a> publishes through GBIF.ES the first dataset coming from a private company in Spain. The publication of this dataset has been made under the framework of the OpenPSD project “Engage and promote the private sector in open biodiversity data publication”<\/a>, which is part of the CESP Programme<\/a> (Capacity Enhancement Support Programme<\/em>), funded by GBIF<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The dataset<\/a> contains bird occurrences that colonise Spanish quarries. These data gather information about colonies of sand martin (Riparia riparia<\/em>) associated with mining locations in the centre of the Iberian peninsula and other species which use their nests for their own reproduction.<\/p>\n

The recording, management and publication of this dataset has been supported by the International Foundation for Ecosystem Restoration (Fundaci\u00f3n FIRE<\/a>) and the University of Alcal\u00e1<\/a>.<\/p>\n
