This recognition underscores the importance of the network in managing and accessing biodiversity data in Ibero-America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its establishment in 1984, CYTED has funded 442 networks like I3B, mobilizing over 50,000 researchers across Ibero-America. Its mission is to strengthen cooperation among scientific institutions and promote technological development in strategic areas. I3B has established itself as a cornerstone in this effort by facilitating the collection, standardization, and dissemination of key biodiversity information in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"40 Aniversario del Programa CYTED\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3kY_qRXukls?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2>Collaboration Between I3B and GBIF<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most noteworthy aspects of I3B is its close <strong>collaboration with GBIF<\/strong>. This partnership has strengthened the data infrastructure network in Ibero-America by optimizing the integration of biodiversity information and encouraging Ibero-American countries to join international scientific data management platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The impact of I3B is evident in the improved technical capacities of participating countries, as it has enabled access to quality information for research, conservation, and environmental policymaking. Currently, the I3B consortium includes members from 13 Ibero-American countries, ten of which are part of GBIF, reinforcing its role as a connection point between local initiatives and global networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recognition of I3B in this anniversary highlights the importance of open science and international collaboration as drivers of technological progress and the conservation of natural heritage in Ibero-America.
