Open call for II GBIF.ES Workshop on Biodiversity Data Publishing in GBIF and Data Papers

Registration timeline for the II GBIF.ES Workshop on Biodiversity Data Publishing in GBIF and Data Papers is already opened. This workshop will take place in June 12-14, 2018 in the computer room at the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid (CSIC).

This training event is directed to biologists, natural history curators, and scientists who are actively involved in monitoring and managing biodiversity data. It aims to teach participants to prepare, use and publish biodiversity data through the GBIF network. Topics such as data quality, data cleaning and validation, data standardization and data publication through the Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) will be addressed. This workshop will also show how to convert descriptions of biodiversity data (metadata) into scientific journal articles (data papers).

Apart from the GBIF.ES staff, this workshop will be conducted by Paula Zermoglio, from the University of Buenos Aires/VertNet project, Nora Escribano, the first Spanish winner of the GBIF Young Research Award, and David Galicia, a researcher from the Natural Science Museum from the University of Navarra.

The workshop is free. The subscription form is available here and must be sent before May 9th, 2018.
