Call for nominations opens for 2019 GBIF Young Researchers Award

We are welcome to receive nominations for the GBIF Young Researchers Award 2019. This call is addressed to Master and Ph.D. students working with GBIF data in their studies. The main objective of the award is to foster innovative research and discovery in biodiversity informatics by graduate students who are deploying GBIF-enabled data in master’s and doctoral studies at universities in GBIF Voting and Associate Participant countries. Two awards of 5,000€ each will be made available for the winners.

In the 2018 call, the winners of this award were Kate Ingenloff (University of Kansas, USA) and Raquel Gaião Silva (University of Algarve, Portugal). Following, you can find a short video where Raquel explains the study for which she has been awarded.

Applicants can obtain details regarding the submission of proposals and other information from the national GBIF node. In Spain, applications must be submitted to the Coordination Unit of the Spanish GBIF Node (miguel.vega@rjb.csic.es) before April 30th, 2019.
