The international workshop on Biodiversity data use for decision making will be postponed due to COVID-19
The Biodiversity data use for decision-making workshop will be postponed due to the current restrictions generated by the COVID-19 virus. This workshop, which is the main activity from the “Data Use for Decision Making Workshop: an Iberoamerican community call” CESP project, funded by GBIF, was planned to be hosted in Santiago de Chile on April 20-24, 2020.
Participants in this workshop would be experts from environmental public administrations coming from those countries involved in the project (Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Ecuador and Peru). Also, teachers will come from other countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States. This fact has complicated the re-planing of this workshop. However, the new predictable dates are November 30 to December 4, 2020. These dates have been agreed with the GBIF Secretariat and they will be under monthly revision by the project team. Depending on the evolution of the COVID-19 global situation, the project will ensure the organization of this workshop. In addition, in September 2020 an online workshop will be hosted as a preparatory activity in the framework of this project.
All the updated information related to this workshop can be found on the project website.
