Call for nominations opens for 2018 GBIF Young Researchers Award

We are welcome to receive nominations for the GBIF Young Researchers Award 2018. This call is address to Master and Ph.D. students working with GBIF data in their studies. The main objective of the award is to foster innovative research and discovery in biodiversity informatics by graduate students who are deploying GBIF-enabled data in master’s and doctoral studies at universities in GBIF Voting and Associate Participant countries. Two awards of 5,000€ each will be made available for the winners.

In the 2017 call, Nora Escribano, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Navarra, was the first Spanish student in getting this award which has provided her with scientific recognition for her excellent work.

Applicants can obtain details regarding the submission of proposals and other information from the national GBIF node. In Spain, applications must be submitted to the Coordination Unit of the Spanish GBIF Node (infogbifspain@gmail.com) before May 31st, 2018.
