Open call for II GBIF.ES online Workshop on Biodiversity Data Quality

The subscription period is now open for the II GBIF.ES online Workshop on Biodiversity Data Quality that will take place on March 12-27, 2019 in the GBIF.ES e-learning platform, Chamilo.

This workshop is aimed to provide the theoretical base and introduce different tools useful for controlling data quality, from the data collection to the publication process, through their systematization, identification, taxonomy, documentation, storage, and conservation of the information. Biodiversity data are the basis of many research projects and have a very important role in decision making regarding the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. The workshop is addressed to biologists, curators of natural history collections, scientists and anyone who is actively involved in the biodiversity data management.

The workshop will be conducted by Katia Cezón and Carmen Lujano, both from GBIF Spain, and Paula Zermoglio, from the University of Buenos Aires and related to the VertNet project.

The workshop is free. The subscription form is available here and must be sent before February 18th, 2019.

More information on the workshop website (just in Spanish).
