GBIF.ES joining the XVI Meeting on Citizen Science hosted by CREAF, SCB and ICHN in Barcelona

Felipe Castilla (GBIF Spain) presented the Data traking in GBIF. The Natusfera use case during the XVI Meeting CREAF SCB ICHN which take place on November 21st, 2018.

This meeting was hosted by CREAF (Center for Ecological Research and Forest Applications), SCB (Catalan Society of Biology) and ICHN (Catalan Institute of Natural History) in the historical building of the IEC (Institute for Catalan Studies), in Barcelona.

During his presentation, Felipe Castilla explained the use of the Natusfera platform and the publication of the Natusfera Citizen Science Observation Dataset through GBIF. He also introduced the importance of citizen open data using a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) to track the use of the data we share through the network.

At the end of this event, there was a panel discussion where lecturers and attendees could debate about the limits and potential of citizen science in society.
