Description
The Botany Section is part of the Department of Biology, Health and Environment at the University of Barcelona. It carries out teaching, research and knowledge-transfer activities in botany, plant biodiversity, cytogenetics, ethnobotany, pharmaceutical botany and medicinal plants, as well as in the documentation and publication of scientific data on plant biodiversity.

Goals
The Botany Section aims to develop research, teaching and knowledge transfer in the fields of botany, plant biodiversity, ethnobotany, and plants of pharmaceutical and medicinal interest. Its objectives include the taxonomic, cytogenetic and evolutionary study of plants, the documentation and conservation of knowledge on flora, and the generation, curation and publication of scientific biodiversity data in interoperable and reusable formats.
