Description

The wooded park of Riofrío is an area of 625 hectares of natural landscape, surrounded by a stone wall and inhabited by herds of fallow deer. In this area the Royal Palace of Riofrio was built in XVIII century. The main floor of this Palace is partialy occupied by a Museum of Hunting, one of the most important of its kind. The Museum opened in 1966 and is integrated by mounted animals hunted by the Spanish Royal Family, and dioramas with spanish fauna. The collection was held by J.L. Benedito, E. Ruiz del Río and A. Oliveras.

The Museum of Hunt doesn't have investigation, but it is located in the forest of Riofrío, where applied researchs are carried out: forest and hunt administration, forest plagues, etc...
