Description
The Iberian Society for the Conservation and Study of Mammals (SECEM) is a Spanish-Portuguese association, founded in February 1991 and registered in the Spanish National Register of Associations under number 100,182. It is a non-profit organisation and currently has around a thousand members throughout Spain and Portugal, as well as in other neighbouring countries. Over the years, SECEM has undoubtedly consolidated its national and international prestige in the world of mammal conservation. It is a founding member and the only Iberian representative in the International Federation of Mammalogists, which brings together the world\'s leading associations dedicated to the conservation and study of mammals. It is also part of the European Mammal Foundation, the body that coordinates the Atlas of European Mammals, and is a member of the IUCN and the Spanish Committee of the IUCN. We are an association that brings together students, people interested in nature conservation and professionals in the fields of research, teaching and management, both in public and private organisations, who share the same passion: the conservation of the environment and mammals.
